In the coating of e.g. a steel strip by vapour deposition, the strip may be so bent by rollers, that the edges of the strip which would normally receive less of the coating material, e.g. aluminium, are nearer the source, and a uniform coating is obtained. In a modification Fig. 4 (not shown) two strips are coated simultaneously, each being inclined to the horizontal. |
