An improved golf club, for use in the rough with reduced risk of the stroke of the club head being slowed or impeded by grass &c., is provided with a cutting edge on the hozel of the club head, at least a part of the cutting edge being on the leading face of the hozel when the club is used. The hozel is the stub shaft of the club head. As shown in the Figs., the cutting edge is provided by a rib (11) on hozel (10). Alternatively the cutting edge, or edges, which may be serrated, may be formed by one or both lips of a groove and may extend helically round the hozel. |
