The invention relates to a piston pump for a hydraulic pressure generator in a vehicle braking system. The piston pump comprises a housing in which a bore 30 is formed for receiving an eccentric shaft 32. At least six cylinders 12, 14, 16, 22, 24, 26 are further provided for accommodating one pump piston 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 each. The cylinders 12, 14, 16, 22, 24, 26 are disposed in pairs in three or more offset planes (A-A, B-B, C-C) and each open onto the receiving bore for the eccentric shaft. According to one potential embodiment, each braking circuit in a two-circuit vehicle braking system is associated with at least three cylinders to increase operating ease. Each of the provided eccentric shafts works with only two pump pistons in order to reduce wear. |
