<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel which has high luminance and high contrast. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel includes an array substrate having signal lines 11 and scan lines 12, an opposite substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a color filter formed of colored layers of a plurality of colors, and a light shield portion provided to the opposite substrate and having a plurality of striped portions 21a overlapping boundaries between the signal lines and colored layers. Intervals between the signal lines 11 and intervals between the striped portions 21a are not equal.
