<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device capable of enhancing deployment performance when an airbag body is inflated and deployed forward of the vehicle while expanding a space between an outer end of a seatback in a vehicle width direction and a side wall part of a cabin. <P>SOLUTION: A thin-walled part 34A in which a part corresponding to a deployment area of an airbag body 106 is more thin-walled in the vehicle width direction than a thick-walled part 34B of other part is formed on an extension part 34 at an outer end in the vehicle width direction of a seatback pad 30. Thus, squeeze of an outer end 14B in the vehicle width direction of a seatback 14 with the thin-walled part 34A being formed by the deployment pressure is promoted. A large deployment area of the airbag body 106 can be ensured, and as a result, the airbag body 106 is smoothly deployed.
