<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search a specific electric wire cable and a specific optical fiber easily. <P>SOLUTION: By making an ultrasonic vibrator 10 contact a cable 100 to be specified, ultrasonic vibration is transmitted to a conductor part of the cable 100, and at a point where it is required to specify the cable 100, a vibration sensor 20 is made to contact any one of a plurality of the cables one by one. Thereby, the cable 100 can be specified based on the presence of the ultrasonic vibration transmitted in the conductor part.
