<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition that can yield a cured product of a high glass transition temperature. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There are provided a thiol compound represented by formula (1), an agent comprising the same for curing an epoxy resin, and an epoxy resin composition comprising an epoxy resin and the curing agent with the amount of the thiol group contained in the curing agent being from 0.2 to 1.2 equivalent per epoxy group contained in the epoxy resin (in the formula, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>each independently represents an aromatic hydrocarbon group, and n is an integer of from 2 to 4).
