<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing an external facing structure for a building, which can achieve construction dispensing with marking, in the construction of a normal roof or a tapered roof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this method for constructing the external facing structure for the building, a longitudinal-roofing external facing material 2 is laid and fixed on a bed 4 with a holding member 1. Characteristically, right and left parts of the holding member 1 are each equipped with a part 14 to be fitted, the obliquely-downward part of which is depressed; the longitudinal-roofing external facing material 2 has right and left side edges provided with fitting parts 25 protruding outward and downward, respectively; the fitting parts 25 can be fitted into the part 14 by adjusting a mounting angle; the longitudinal-roofing external facing material 2 is sequentially laid to one side from the other side in the state of fitting the part 14 of the holding member 2 to the fitting part 25 on either of the right or left sides of the longitudinal-roofing external facing material 2; and a cover material 3 is mounted between the longitudinal-roofing external facing materials 2 and 2.
