<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker capable of continuing cooking under an optimum condition without having a user change cooking conditions and without supplying steam, and performing good cooking even if water runs out during cooking. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a steam detecting section detects that the steam does not generate in a water accumulating section 105 in a process of heating cooking under a first heating condition to heat a heated object 7 by supplying the superheated steam generated by a steam heater 4 to a heating chamber 2, a control section 5 stops power supply to a water heater 103, and switches the condition to a second heating condition to heat and cook the object without supplying the steam, thus the heating cooking is continued by the steam heater 4 without supplying the steam.
