<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting element which has a high efficiency of light extraction from a light extraction-side surface of a semiconductor layer including a light emitting layer and has good light distribution property. <P>SOLUTION: In a light emitting element 1, a plurality of recesses 90 are provided on a light extraction surface opposite to a surface to be mounted on a substrate 10, of a semiconductor laminate 50 which has a light emitting layer 52 between an n-type semiconductor layer 51 and a p-type semiconductor layer 53, and each recess 90 has two stages of slopes 93 and 94 different by tilt angles in a direction in which a diameter decreases from an opening 91 to a bottom, and the slope 93 having a smaller tilt angle is a surface having irregularities 95, and the slope 94 having a larger tilt angle is a flat surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
