<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor capable of suppressing generation of abnormal trolling noise. <P>SOLUTION: The outboard motor includes a drive shaft 12 extending downwardly from an engine in which the axial direction of a crankshaft is the vertical direction. The outboard motor includes a propeller shaft connected to a lower end of the drive shaft 12 via a steering reverser mechanism, and a propeller provided on the propeller shaft. A small diameter part constituting a torsion bar spring 15 is formed in an intermediate part of the drive shaft 12, and a first cylindrical body 31 and a second cylindrical body 32 constituting a multiple pipe are provided thereon. An upper end of the first cylindrical body 31 is fixed to an upper end 15a of the torsion spring 15, and a lower end of the second cylindrical body 32 is fixed to a lower end 15b of the torsion bar spring 15.
