摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a photo-alignment film reduced in DC residual image in a liquid crystal display using an IPS system. <P>SOLUTION: An alignment film 113 is formed with a two-layer structure of a photo-alignment film 1131 capable of photo-alignment and a low-resistance alignment film 1132 having smaller resistivity than the photo-alignment film. The photo-alignment film 1131 is formed of a polyimide prepared from polyamic acid alkyl ester as a precursor, has a large number molecular weight, and exhibits excellent alignment stability through photo-alignment. The low-resistance alignment film 1132 is formed of a polyimide prepared from a polyamic acid as a precursor and has a small number molecular weight and small resistivity. By the two-layer structure, the alignment film can be made small in resistivity as a whole while retaining excellent photo-alignment properties, accordingly DC residual images can be controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
