<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater capable of keeping high reliability and low costs for a long period by detecting abnormality and stopping a compressor without using a pressure switch or a discharge pressure detecting means. <P>SOLUTION: In this heat pump water heater having a heat pump 1 formed by connecting the compressor 2, a radiator 3, a pressure reducing means 4, and an air heat exchanger 5, a hot water storage tank 8 for storing warm water heated by the radiator 2, and a current value detecting means 34 for detecting a value of electric current flowing to the compressor 2, and constituted to stop an operation of the compressor 2 when the current value reaches a prescribed value or more within a prescribed time after start of the compressor 2, high reliability and low costs can be kept for a long period by detecting abnormality without using the pressure switch or the discharge pressure detecting means, and stopping the compressor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
