<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic induction heating unit that can narrow a space required for installation, and an air conditioner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electromagnetic induction heating unit 6 heating refrigerant piping F with the outer surface formed of an SUS pipe F2, includes a coil 68 and a shielding cover 75. The coil 68 is disposed near the refrigerant piping F. The shielding cover 75 is disposed outside opposite to the inside which is the refrigerant piping F side with respect to the coil 68, and includes plane shape provided on at least a part of the outside surface.
