PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device of high accuracy which correctly detects only a human body, without emitting a false signal by detecting a disturbance or an object to be detected other than the human body. SOLUTION: The detection device includes a twin-mirror-type infrared-ray sensor 101 equipped with infrared-ray sensors 101a, 101b which outputs an electrical signal according to a variation amount of the detected infrared rays, a model memory part 106 which stores a plurality of probability models which are formed from feature amounts, a feature amount extraction part 103 which extracts as the feature amount the information of the electric signal frequency which is output by the twin-mirror-type infrared-ray sensor 101. The probability model corresponding to the feature amount is detected from the likelihood of the probability model which is stored in the model memory part 106 and the extracted feature amount.
