摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the over-stroke of a tap in a tap metallic mold and a tap die to be used in the method. SOLUTION: In this method, the over-stroke of the tap mounted in the tap metallic mold to be used by being mounted in a punch press is detected. In a cylindrical die body 3 of the tap die 7 to be used in cooperation with the tap metallic mold, the inner cylinder 7 provided with a tap abutting member 5 to be pressed in a lower direction with the tap provided vertically movably in the tap metallic mold is vertically movably provided and is provided by energizing in an upper direction. A plurality of upper and lower stages of communicating parts 25A and 25B capable of communicating and cutting off with/from an air supply port 11 provided in the die body 3 are provided on an outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 7. A fluid sensor for detecting the communicating and cutting-off state of the air supply port 11 and the communicating parts 25A and 25B is provided in a connecting passage for connecting an air source and the air supply port 11.
