PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner prohibiting automatic dust removal so that the noise caused by the dust removal will not be generated when an electric blower, operated with low output selected for cleaning in a time zone when noise should be cared about, is stopped. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 29 is configured to automatically operate a dust removing motor 40 when the electric blower 2 operated in a powerful mode is stopped by a control portion 6, and not to operate the dust removing motor 40 when the electric blower 2 is stopped by the control portion 6 when the electric blower is operated in a medium mode or in a weak mode.
