<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain artificial editing effects without actual editing work by a user. Ž<P>SOLUTION: (a) A video camera recorder 100A of a host side takes in a video image file and meta data relating to a video image in an image information management file from a video camera recorder 100B of a device side connected by a USB, and adds and records it in an internal HDD. (b) The video camera recorder 100A extracts the video image file in which the recording date and time overlaps with others from recording date and time information, and calculates an importance score showing an importance degree of the image in every section indicated by a multiple of a GOP. (c) When the predetermined video image file is reproduced, if there is a video image file overlapping in recording date and time with the predetermined file based on the overlapping information, an image with a high importance score is selected and displayed out of images based on the both video image files in each section for the overlapping period.
