PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a cooling means that improves cooling efficiency and can be installed at any place. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 11 includes: a drive mechanism 24 having a drive frame 44 that has a shaft 43 with a hollow structure 51 and a rotary body 42 fitted to the shaft 43 and rotates around the shaft 43; and the cooling means 41 for cooling the drive mechanism 24. In the image forming apparatus, the cooling means 41 has: a tank 52 storing a cooling liquid 49; a flow passage 56 in which the cooling liquid 49 flows from the tank 52 and flows back to the tank 52; a pump 53 for circulating the cooling liquid 49; a heat absorbing section 57 by which heat generated due to the slide contact of the shaft 43 with the rotary body 42 is absorbed via the cooling liquid 49; and a heat dissipating section 54 for dissipating heat absorbed by the cooling liquid 49.
