<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic detection device for removing a spurious image due to a grating lobe, even if the number of oscillators is small, thereby improving the detection accuracy of a detection object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A phase difference calculating unit 11 calculates a phases difference between two receive beam signals formed by receive beam signal forming units 9a, 9b at each scan angle. A main lobe receive signal detecting unit 12 determines whether the receive beam signal at each scan angle is a signal received by a main lobe or the grating lobe based on a change mode of the phase difference calculated by the phase difference calculating unit 11, displays an image of the detection object based on the signal received by the main lobe, and prevents the image of the detection object from being displayed based on the signal received by the grating lobe.
