<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper excellent in printing workability including water-absorbing impressionability, print quality such as opacity after printed and blanket piling, and blanket staining. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coated paper is obtained by coating at least one side of base paper with a coating liquid composition containing a pigment, an adhesive, and an a ketene dimer-based surface sizing agent followed by drying. In the coated paper, the coating composition also contains a crosslinking agent, and the adhesive includes at least a water-soluble polymer; and the blending ratio of the coating liquid composition are as follows: based on 100 pts.mass of the pigment, the adhesive is at 10-300 pts.mass on a solid basis, the ketene dimer-based surface sizing agent is at 0.05-10 pts.mass, and the crosslinking agent is at 0.0005-90 pts.mass.
