<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the peeling of an orientation film at the rubbing treatment of the orientation film, in a liquid crystal display panel having an alignment layer on metal wiring in a peripheral area of a substrate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel has a liquid crystal layer and a substrate for driving the liquid crystal layer with an externally input electric signal, and the substrate has a pixel region where the liquid crystal layer is driven and a peripheral region positioned outside the pixel region and including the metal wiring for transmitting the external electric signal. The alignment layer is formed in the pixel region and peripheral region of the substrate, and a transparent electrode layer covering a side of the metal wiring is formed between the metal wiring in the peripheral region and the alignment layer.
