PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust core which has high magnetic permeability and is superior in high frequency characteristic and saturation magnetization. SOLUTION: In the dust core which is formed by press-forming soft magnetic metallic particles having an insulation oxide film on their surfaces, the soft magnetic metallic particle contains iron, and a metallic layer which is formed mainly of a magnetic element with higher equilibrium oxygen pressure than iron is provided between the soft magnetic metallic layer and the insulation oxide film.
