摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "single-hand driving/single-leg steering wheelchair" adopting an efficiently operable and simple steering mechanism for steering the wheelchair by a single leg without disability. SOLUTION: The wheelchair has driving rear wheels with driving hand rims to be manually operated, and front wheels. The wheelchair includes an Ackermann-Junto mechanism which allows both front wheels to be steered in the same direction at the same time by coupling one ends of knuckle arms to respective front wheel support members of the front wheels and axially coupling the other ends of the knuckle arms to each other by a tie-rod as the front wheel steering mechanism. One end of a steering subordinate arm is axially coupled to the axially coupling portion of each knuckle arms and the tie rod, and the lower end of a steering main arm is axially coupled to the other end of the steering subordinate arm. The intermediate part of the steering main arm is journaled to a support member in the front of the seat, and a thigh mounting frame is fixed to the upper end of the steering main arm. The axially coupling portion of the lower end of the steering main arm and the steering subordinate arm is shifted to the left or right by the left/right turning operation of the upper part of the steering main arm by the thigh mounting frame 7 to steer the front wheels by the Ackermann-Junto mechanism.
