<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ammonia sensor that allows measurement at a temperature that exceeds 400°C and has high heat-resistant stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This ammonia sensor 200A comprises a pair of electrodes 2A and a sensitive section 4, that are disposed in contact with the pair of electrodes and varies electrically, corresponding to the ammonia component in gas to be detected. The sensitive section 4 is made of only solid super-strong acid material and a mixture of n-type oxide semiconductor. When 20 sensitive sections are observed using a scanning transmission electron microscope, the solid super-strong acid material in the sensitive section 4 at all observation points is obtained, by binding a plurality of particulates made of microscopic and amorphous components to the surface of a carrier.
