<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for appropriately keeping multichannel sound images according to the position and the view angle of an image which is segmented and viewed, even when a part of the image (a representative image designated by a broadcasting station or an image selected by a user) is segmented and viewed according to the ability and function of the receiver, and to provide a control method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The receiver includes a reception part 102 for receiving a first video image accompanied by the sound of a plurality of channels, a video output control part 109 for segmenting a part of the first video image and outputting a second video image, and a sound output control part 111 for generating output sound to be output together with the second video image. The receiver determines the combination of input sound to be used for the synthesis of the output sound from the input sound of the plurality of channel which is the sound of the first video image on the basis of the segmentation position of the second video image, synthesizes the input sound of the determined combination and generates the output sound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
