<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such an apparatus that has higher practicality and higher usability than before, as an imaging apparatus which can be remotely controlled in accordance with a motion of a photographic subject. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Regarding a face present in image data obtained by imaging, a motion corresponding to an operation is determined. In response to the determination of the motion corresponding to the operation, a digital still camera executes a predetermined operation. A priority is set in accordance with a predetermined state of the face thereafter and when determining the motion corresponding to an operation, the determination is reflected with the priority.
