<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve timing mechanism preventing a change in urging force of an urging means while stably operating the mechanism by the urging means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A shoe 14 and a vane 41 are provided for regulating relative rotation by being brought into contact with each other when a housing 10 and a vane rotor 4 are relatively rotated in the direction opposite to the direction with vanes 42-44 pressed by the urging means 6 (coil springs 610-630). The urging means 6 (coil springs 610-630) are provided between the shoes 11-13 and vanes 42-44 except the shoe 14 and vane 41 which regulate the relative rotation. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
