PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely hold the position of an optical element in a mechanism which moves the position of the optical element forward and backward by means of the application of electric power. SOLUTION: A lens module 1 has: a lens 10 which forms an image of an object on an image pickup element 100; an ion-conductive polymer actuator 11 which moves a lens holder 13 forward and backward along the optical axis direction by means of the application of electric power; and a holding part 12 which holds the lens holder 13 at least at two positions along the optical axis direction when the ion-conductive polymer actuator 11 moves the lens holder 13 forward and backward.
