<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component pickup apparatus for excluding complex wiring of a pickup head and miniaturizing an inversion part and reducing its weight. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A shaft 49 is passed through the inside of an arm 23 where the pickup head 5 has been fit to the tip; the tip of the shaft 49 is engaged with a rotary lever 58 of a nozzle 24 fit to the pickup head 5; and the shaft 49 is moved back and forth by a motor 55 disposed at a rear edge side of the shaft 49 and a cam mechanism to operate the rotary lever 58. The nozzle 24 is rotated by mechanical operation without using any electricity from the outside of the pickup head 5, thus dispensing with complex electric wiring for the pickup head and miniaturizing the inversion part and reducing its weight.
