<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner facilitating maintenance and replacement of a refrigerant heating apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The outdoor unit 2 for the air conditioner is equipped with: a casing 27; and the refrigerant heating apparatus 30 enclosed inside the casing 27 to heat a refrigerant. The casing 27 is of rectangular parallelepiped shape with a top plate 27a and side plates 27b, 27c. The refrigerant heating apparatus 30 is enclosed inside the casing 27 to heat the refrigerant.
