<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that an attendant can be called using an automatic transaction apparatus having an attendant calling button 7a for a customer to call an attendant, even if the attendant calling button 7a has failed, if physically handicapped or elderly customers cannot reach the attendant calling button 7a, or if the attendant calling button 7a is not sufficiently pressed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The automatic transaction apparatus has a camera 8a provided around the attendant calling button 7a, and an image analyzing unit provided for performing face detection by analyzing the image obtained by the camera 8a. An attendant is called depending on the number of times that a customer has stared around the attendant calling button 7a or the length of time that he or she has stared.
