<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in the run-flat durability without impairing the rolling resistance and the riding feeling during normal traveling. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes a bead core, a carcass layer having one or more carcass plys in which a plurality of reinforcing cords laid in parallel are embedded in a coating rubber, a tread rubber layer, an inner liner, a side reinforcing layer and a bead filler. The reinforcing cords is of material of a cellulose based fiber, has a rigidity represented by a cord modulus of elasticity of 50 cN/dtex or higher (at 180°C and a stress caused when a force of 29.4 N is applied per piece of the reinforcing cord), and employs a rubber composition containing (A) rubber component of 100 pts.mass and (B) carbon black of 55 pts.mass or more and with the physical properties of vulcanized rubber of 10 MPa or more of the 100% elongation elasticity (M100) and 6.0 or less of Σ value of tangent loss tanδ at 28-150°C.
