<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable electronic apparatus for improving the convenience of a user by suppressing erroneous detection of a folded state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic apparatus has a pair of casings openably closably coupled to each other so as to be foldable; and a first opened/closed state detecting means and a second opening/closing state detecting means which are equipped on the casings respectively and has a function for detecting the opened/closed state of the casings and has detection methods different from each other. The electronic apparatus further includes an opened/closed state determining means for determining that the casing is in an opening state when at least any one or results of detection is an opening state, of the results of detection by the first opened/closed state detecting means and the second opened/closed state detecting means, and determining that the casing is in a closed state when both the results of detection are the closed state.
