PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for improving stability of density and image-quality without a downtime in a continuous job. SOLUTION: An image forming condition is adjusted in accordance with detection results of the density of a test pattern image, and when performing a test mode in the midst of the continuous image formation job to form images on a plurality of recording sheets including first and second recording sheets, a developing bias AC voltage is set as a first AC voltage, then, the first test pattern image is formed, and the developing bias AC voltage is set as a second AC voltage, then, the second test pattern image is formed continuously.
