<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system in which a circuit quality-monitoring unit of a non-used port neither erroneously detects abnormality of the circuit quality nor notifies an upper rank device of the erroneous abnormality report, and which can improve the reliability of the system and make maintenance easy. <P>SOLUTION: If a monitoring desk 7 transmits a stop indication of circuit quality-monitoring operation for stopping the operation of the circuit quality-monitoring unit by specifying a device number and a port number to a relay device 2, a slave unit 4 and a HUB 5, the specified device receives the instruction, and a control unit stops the operation of the circuit quality-monitoring unit according to information showing "off" while memorizing the operation of the circuit quality-monitoring unit corresponding to a port number in a nonvolatile memory as "off" based on the instruction.
