<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article storage facility capable of reducing a weight of a transfer device and reducing a running cost and capable of improving an article storage capacity by rationally storing articles. <P>SOLUTION: The article storage facility is provided with: an article storage shelf 4 consisting of a plurality of article storage parts 5 having a plurality of article holding parts 5a, 5b in a depth direction, and arranged in vertical and horizontal directions; a conveyor 1 for conveying an article A between a carrying in/out part and the article storage part 5; a transfer device 10 arranged for the conveyor in an expandable and contractible manner for storing and taking out the article A for the respective article holding parts 5a, 5b; and a control means for controlling operation of the conveyor 1 and the transfer device 10 by storing and managing a storing state of the article A. The transfer device 10 stores and takes out the article A for the respective article holding parts 5a, 5b separately and, when storing the article A, the control means executes storage control for storing a heavy article A1 heavier than a preset weight in the article holding part 5a located at a front side based on weight information about the article A to be stored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
