PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide can adjust easily a difference of a refractive index between a core and a clad. SOLUTION: This optical waveguide includes a core part for propagating light, and a clad part having a lower refractive index than the core part and positioned in contact with the core part. The core part is formed of a hardened material of an active radiation hardening polymer having a maleimide group, and a low molecular weight compound having a higher refractive index than the hardened material or a photoreaction residue of a polymer of the low molecular weight compound and the maleimide group exists in the hardened material of the active radiation hardening polymer having the maleimide group forming the core part.
