PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-accuracy focus adjustment on a specific one of a plurality of subjects desired by a photographer when there are a plurality of subjects in a range for determining an in-focus state. SOLUTION: The focusing lens device includes a focus lens group 1, a variable power lens group 2, a focusing state detection means 5 and an arithmetic operation means 8 for the components, and stops focus adjusting operation when at least either the focus lens group 1 or the variable power lens group 2 moves in a direction where depth of focus is deeper.
