<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen scavenger composition which is used in plastic materials, particularly in plastic films and useful for scavenging oxygen from environments wherein oxygen-sensitive products, particularly food and beverage products are contained. <P>SOLUTION: The oxygen scavenger composition includes: a polymer or an oligomer containing a polymer main chain, a cyclic olefin pendant group, and a linking group for linking the olefin pendant group with the polymer main chain; and a transition metal catalyst.
