OPTICAL PICKUP AND OPTICAL DISK DEVICE WITH THE SAME MOUNTED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which is compact and compatible with high-density and high-speed recording, and to provide an optical disk device.

SOLUTION: The optical pickup includes a lens drive device 101 and an objective lens drive device 102 in which a holder 2 is driven by rotation of a drive shaft of a motor 6 in the optical axis direction of a lens 1. The motor 6 is arranged in parallel to the objective lens drive device 102 in the tracking direction. The holder 2 exists at the lower part of the objective lens drive device 102 when it is moved to the vicinity of the motor 6.
