<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or inhibit excessive rise of fuel pressure during a failure of a fuel pump in a fuel supply device for an engine controlling the fuel pump so as to set a pressure in fuel piping downstream a fuel pump closer to a target fuel pressure. <P>SOLUTION: In a failure state of the fuel pump, an electromagnetic relief valve opening and closing a relief pipe returning fuel in the fuel piping to a fuel tank is opened, and fuel in the fuel piping is returned into the fuel tank when pressure in the fuel piping gets higher than the target fuel pressure. Consequently, excessive rise of pressure of fuel in the fuel piping is inhibited and fuel leak from the fuel injection valve is prevented even if the fuel pump fails. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
