<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control a time for supplying power to each of a plurality of storing parts in a volatile storing means (RAM) without increasing the capacity of a power supplying means (battery) for backup when backing up data stored in the volatile storing means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A switch control logic circuit 207 which is operable even if power supply to the body of a composite device (communication device) 100 is interrupted interrupts power supply from a battery 113 to a program area 103-A of the RAM 103 in accordance with the elapse of a first period of time after the power supply to the composite device 100 is interrupted, and interrupts power supply from the battery 113 to a facsimile image area 103-B of the RAM 103 in accordance with the elapse of a second period of time longer than the first period of time.
