PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor high in strength against bearing retainer coming-off and having a bearing retainer structure that enables cost reduction. SOLUTION: The motor body 1 of the stepping motor integrally has a hat-shaped bearing retainer 20 of a sheet metal press molding, integrally including: a bottomed cylindrical portion 21; and a flange portion 22. The bottomed cylindrical portion 21 houses a pivot bearing 12 for rotatably supporting the axial end of a sleeve S with a motor shaft 2 press-fit therein so as to be slid in a thrust direction. It thereby retains a coil spring 13 placed in an annular groove T on the opposite side to a ball holding hole 12a in the pivot bearing 12. The flange portion 22 is lapped on the end face portion 11a of a B-phase outer yoke 11 that is protruded outward in the radial direction on the opening side of the bottomed cylindrical portion 21 and includes an outer stator and is welded and fixed there.
