PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tap die allowing the improvement of discharge of chips, and the smooth and vertical movement of an inner cylinder in relation to a die body. SOLUTION: This tap die is used in cooperation with a tap metallic mold to be used by being mounted on a punch press. In the cylindrical die body 3, the inner cylinder 7 provided with a tap abutting member 5 to be pressed in a lower direction with a tap vertically movably provided in the tap metallic mold is vertically movably provided and is provided by energizing in an upper direction. In a normal state, the upper end 7U of the inner cylinder 7 is provided at almost the same height as that of the upper end of the die body 3. The tap abutting member 5 is made of plate. A vertical direction width dimension is formed to be larger than the plate thickness of the tap abutting member 5. The upper surface 5U of the tap abutting member 5 is provided at a lower position than the upper end 7U of the inner cylinder 7. The lower end of the tap abutting member 5 is provided at an upper position than an air injection hole 27 provided in the inner cylinder 7.
