<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To superimpose and display character information of an HD (High Definition) size on/in an HD method video. <P>SOLUTION: The video processing apparatus is equipped with: a means (16) to separate main and sub images from a multiplexed video signal including main and sub video signals of standard resolution size; a means (38) to convert the main image of standard resolution size output from the separation means (16) into a main image of high resolution size; means (46, 48, 50) to create a character image of high resolution size on the basis of a character data included in the main video signal of the multiplexed video signal; and a means (40) to superimpose the character image of high resolution size formed by the creation means on the main image of high resolution size output by the conversion means (38). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
