<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic sphygmomanometer capable of switching a measurement method depending on a size of a measured site of a subject and a method for controlling blood pressure measurement. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic sphygmomanometer employs a pressure-decreasing measurement method as the initial measurement method, and detects a pressure time between a predetermined pressure interval as an index based on the pressure information of an initial stage of pressure in order to determine the size of the measured site (S104, S106). When the size of the measured site is determined to be below the norm (Yes in S106), the measurement method of blood pressure is carried on the pressure-decreasing measurement method, and when the size of the measured site is larger than normal (No in S106), the measurement method of blood pressure is changed from the pressure-decreasing measurement method to a pressure-increasing measurement method and the measurement treatment of blood pressure continues (S110). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
