<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a change in lateral movement of a player. <P>SOLUTION: A game apparatus includes jumping boards on which players jump. A jumping board 18 is supported through a turning shaft 88, and installed turnably by a rotation shaft in a predetermined direction. A plurality of photosensors 80-83 are disposed along the tilting direction of the jumping board 18. A detected object 86 is provided at the position of the rotation shaft of the jumping board 18, and is formed to pass through the detection range of the photosensors 80-83 as the jumping board 18 is tilted.
