PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which a display can be smoothly opened and closed between the stowage position and the use position, and is ruggedized in the use position of the display. SOLUTION: The display device includes: a base section 21; a display section 24 rotatably installed in one end of the base section; a first motor 41 for opening and closing the display section between the stowage position and the use position; a cover section 24 having one end movably installed on the other end of the base section, and the other end connected to the display section via an engagement means movable relative to the display section; a second motor for rotating the cover section; and a drive control means for performing drive control of the motor. The engagement means includes a long hole section 30 formed in one of the cover section and the display section, and an engagement pin 27 movable in the long hole section. When the display section is in the use position, the drive control means performs drive control of the first motor and second motor so that at least one of the cover section and the display section applies load to the other via the engagement means.
