PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle capable of displaying smoothly rotational movement of a pointer part by suppressing generation itself of a residual image. SOLUTION: The display device for a vehicle is equipped with an image display device 1; and a control means 3 for displaying on the image display device 1, an analog type instrument image 10 comprising an index part 11, the pointer part 12 for indicating rotatively the index part 11, and a background part 13 which is a background for the index part 11 and the pointer part 12, wherein the pointer part 12 has a gradation domain 122 whose color is changed gradually from a color of a basic domain 121 to a color of the background part 13, on a boundary part with the background part 13.
